After studying the term “fool’s gold” historically, and everything that has been written in song lyrics about it, I realized that the theme has been addressed very superficially. So, I decided to include the word “pyrite” in the song’s lyrics, because there is no fool’s gold without it. Historical records about pyrite mention even tons that were transported from one continent to another as if it were gold, at a time when navigation was rudimentary and, therefore, much more expensive — especially in the 19th century —, and fake news were spread through the ancient word-of-mouth method. Bringing the theme to the present day, “fool’s gold” is very present on the internet: people looking for a means of survival or quick enrichment through the most varied mechanisms, such as influencers, dropshipping, affiliate marketing, and so on. But trading was the most lethal activity, with people who lost everything in stock or cryptocurrency crashes and, out of desperation, took their own lives. There were not few who did so. To these people, I give a wake-up call: they died for nothing, because time — which is the gift of life — is our greatest treasure, besides health, of course. In the music video, after showing the consequences of investing in fool’s gold, the character wakes up from a nightmare and a new future is written, once he rejects the pyrite.
